Listen to YouTube like a podcast
Long interviews, lectures, commentary, and video essays do not always need a screen. Feedcast lets you bring that material into a podcast workflow with queues, variable speed, background playback, downloads, sleep timers, and the other tools offered by your chosen player.
You decide whether each import remains video or becomes audio only. Players that support video podcasts can show the video; audio-only output reduces the media to what you need for listening.
Channels, playlists, and individual videos
A single URL can represent one video, a curated playlist, or an entire channel. For recurring sources, auto-sync checks for new uploads and adds them to your personal feed. Feedcast can also mix a YouTube source with ordinary podcast RSS feeds and local files, so your feed reflects a topic or routine rather than the website where each item started.
Important: YouTube import is available only in the direct build of Feedcast. The Mac App Store does not allow the required bundled tool, so the App Store version supports RSS, Apple Podcasts, and local files without YouTube.
Private and self-hosted on your Mac
The media file is kept and served by your Mac. Feedcast’s optional online hosting publishes the feed XML so podcast apps that require a web address can find it; it does not upload the YouTube media itself. The Mac must be awake and reachable when another device fetches an episode.
This is a personal listening workflow, not a public republishing service. You are responsible for using imported content in accordance with applicable rights and the source platform’s terms.
Improve the episode before it reaches your player
Feedcast can keep embedded chapters, add chapter navigation, produce on-device transcripts, and preprocess eligible episodes for sponsor sections. The output still behaves like an ordinary podcast episode in your player.
