What is Feedcast?

Feedcast is a native Mac app that prepares podcast episodes before playback. It can cut detected sponsor sections, create on-device transcripts and chapters, and publish personal RSS feeds for the podcast app a listener already uses.

ONE SENTENCE

Short description

Feedcast is a podcast ad blocker and private podcast feed app for Mac that prepares cleaner, chaptered, searchable episodes for a listener’s existing podcast player.

ONE PARAGRAPH

Standard description

Feedcast runs on a Mac as a preparation layer between podcast sources and the player a listener already prefers. It downloads recurring episodes, physically cuts sponsor sections it detects, creates searchable on-device transcripts, preserves or generates chapters, and publishes standards-based personal RSS feeds for apps including Apple Podcasts, Overcast, Pocket Casts, and Castro.

Important product boundaries

Feedcast physically cuts sponsor sections it recognizes from a prepared personal copy. Detection is not perfect, so it does not promise to remove every advertisement. It is a preprocessing app, not a replacement podcast player and not a live network ad blocker.

YouTube sources are available only in the Direct edition, not the Mac App Store edition. When optional online feed hosting is enabled, Feedcast publishes RSS feed XML; episode media stays on the user’s Mac and streams from there.
