Why Feedcast exists
Podcast listeners already have queues, subscriptions, playback history, and habits in apps they like. Feedcast is built around the idea that improving an episode should not require replacing that player or rebuilding a library somewhere else.
The app runs on the Mac as a preparation layer. It can download recurring sources, create on-device transcripts, preserve or generate chapters, cut detected sponsor sections from personal copies, and publish standards-based RSS feeds for compatible podcast players.
Native, local, and specific
Feedcast is written as a native Mac app in Swift and SwiftUI. Media storage and transcription happen on the Mac. There is no Feedcast account, no in-app advertising, and no analytics or tracking SDK.
That does not mean every feature is offline. RSS downloads, StoreKit, optional online feed XML publishing, SponsorBlock checks, and server-assisted chapter generation use the network when requested. The goal is to keep the architecture understandable rather than hide necessary connections behind a vague privacy slogan.
Independent software
Feedcast is made by student developer Robert Krause without investors, advertising partnerships, or a growth team. The free version is a usable app with three output feeds, and Premium funds recurring automation, unlimited feeds, OPML import, and optional online feed XML publishing.
